What are Nurofen 200mg Caplets?

Nurofen 200mg Caplets are pain relief treatment containing the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) ibuprofen. Ibuprofen can be used to relieve headaches, migraine, dental pain, period pain, symptoms of cold and flu, rheumatic, muscular and back pain and non-serious arthritis.

What is the recommended dosage?

Adults and children over 12 years old should take 1 or 2 tablets with water up to three times a day, as required. You must not take more than 6 tablets in 24 hours. Those aged 12-18 should avoid taking this medicine for more than three days in a row without consulting a doctor. Adults should not take this medicine for longer than 10 days unless told otherwise by a doctor.

How does ibuprofen relieve pain?

These Nurofen caplets contain 200mg of the active ingredient ibuprofen. Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), which works by changing the body’s hormonal response to pain, swelling and high temperature. NSAIDs like ibuprofen are particularly helpful in relieving inflammatory pain like arthritis.

Is Nurofen suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women?

If you are in the last 3 months of pregnancy, you must not take this medicine. Generally, you should also avoid the use of this medicine in the first 6 months of pregnancy, unless your doctor advises otherwise. If you are breastfeeding, speak to a doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist for expert advice before taking Nurofen 200mg Caplets.
