What is Deep Freeze Spray?

Deep Freeze Spray is a rapidly cooling spray that helps to ease the pain and swelling by freezing the affected area. It's perfect for those who are suffering from sports injuries and can even be used after exercise to cool your tired muscles. If you're looking for a convenient alternative to messy ice packs, Deep Freeze Spray could be the perfect product for you.

How to use Deep Freeze Spray

Shake the can of Deep Freeze Spray before each use. Hold the can 15cm away from the area you wish to treat and spray the solution onto the skin in 2 - 3 short bursts. Wash your hands after use. Continue using this treatment regularly until any swelling has subsided, which can take up to 72 hours.

Before using Deep Freeze Spray for the first time, test it on a small patch of skin and observe the effects. If you experience any side effects in this area, this spray may not be the right treatment for you.

How does cold spray relieve pain?

Deep Freeze Spray works by rapidly cooling painful or swollen areas, acting in a similar way to an ice pack. The cold causes your blood vessels to constrict in the affected area, minimising damage and reducing swelling all at once. This can not only relieve pain but can reduce the amount of healing your body will need to deal with the problem and is why Deep Freeze Spray works at its best when applied as soon as possible after an injury.

What kinds of pain can this product help to ease?

Deep Freeze Spray can be used to reduce short term pain or pain caused by recent injuries, it can also help to reduce swelling in the affected areas. There are lots of reasons why people turn to freeze spray, as cold therapy is a very popular way to ease pain. Deep Freeze is particularly effective in those suffering from sprains or strains or recent injuries, as it helps to reduce swelling around the injury while also relieving your pain. It can also be used in those with arthritic conditions, such as osteoarthritis and gout, as it can reduce painful swelling around your stiff joints. In these cases, it may help to alternate between cold and heat therapy, using cold to reduce swelling and heat to ease stiffness, but this can differ from person to person.

What causes pain in the muscles and joints?

There are lots of reasons why you may experience muscle and joint pain, as they're both very common in people of all ages. The causes range from injury to medical conditions, and finding the cause of your pain can be essential when you're figuring out how to treat it. Some of the most common causes of muscle and joint pain include:

  • Sprains, strains, and sports injuries
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Delayed Onsets Muscle Soreness (DOMS) after exercising
  • Tendonitis
  • Sciatic nerve pain
  • Pregnancy pain
  • Period cramps
  • Rheumatic pain

Should I use heat therapy or cold therapy for my pain?

Heat therapy and cold therapy can both be very effective when dealing with pain, but the right one for you will depend on the type of pain you're dealing with. As a rule of thumb, cold therapy is best immediately after an injury or for short term pain, as it helps to reduce swelling and can even minimise damage. On the other hand, heat therapy shines when you're dealing with older injuries or aches and pains caused by stiff or sore joints and muscles. It encourages blood flow to the area, which helps to promote healing and restore movement. Here's a quick rundown of the types of pain that you'd use each type of therapy for:

Cold Therapy

Heat Therapy

  • Recent injuries, especially where there is swelling
  • Strains and sprains
  • Osteoarthritis (to reduce swelling)
  • Symptoms of gout
  • Inflamed tendons (tendonitis)
  • Migraine pain
  • Older injuries
  • Joint or muscle stiffness and pain
  • Osteoarthritis (to ease stiffness)
  • Tension headaches (when used to relieve tension in the neck)
  • Back pain
