What is Halls Sugar-Free Cherry?
Halls Sugar-Free Cherry is a pack of lozenges that help to provide relief for a sore throat and also help to relieve a blocked or stuffy nose. These lozenges contain two active ingredients that work to treat the symptoms associated with a blocked nose and sore throat. The ingredients are:
- Menthol
- Eucalyptus oil
Menthol is a natural mint extract that works to cool the skin and helps to reduce irritation in the throat. Eucalyptus oil is a natural decongestant that helps to open the airways and sinuses and make breathing easier.
What causes a sore throat and a blocked nose?
A sore throat and blocked nose are caused by illnesses, including infections such as a cold and also allergies such as hay fever. These symptoms are caused when germs get into the body and spread, causing irritation and the symptoms associated. The germs get into the body through by air by someone sneezing or coughing, or by touching hard surfaces and the germs lingering on them. Germs on surfaces can last for up to 24 hours.
Who are these lozenges suitable for?
These lozenges can be used by adults and children who can swallow these lozenges without choking on them. They should not be used by anyone who is allergic to the ingredients contained in the lozenges. If you are using any other cold treatment, speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using these lozenges.
Can someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding use these lozenges?
There is no evidence of any problems when using these lozenges when pregnant or breastfeeding. Though it is recommended that you consult medical advice before using.
How should Halls Sugar-Free Cherry be used?
Dissolve a single lozenge in the mouth. Do not exceed the recommended dosages, which are:
- Adults – 4 packs of lozenges
- Children aged 6 and over – 3 packs
- Children under the age of 6 – 1 pack
These recommended dosages are for a 24-hour period.
Are there any side effects?
Excessive use of these lozenges can lead to diarrhoea. There is also the potential for side effects as a result of an allergic reaction. If you notice a side effect, speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist as soon as possible. You can also record any side effect that you notice using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
