Can facial oil replace moisturiser?

What skin type would benefit from a facial oil?
All skin types can benefit from adding a facial oil into their skincare routine (yes, even oily, acne-prone skin!)
The ingredients in facial oil strengthen our skin’s barrier, prompting it to generate rejuvenated and soft skin cells.
Of course, you should be conscious of the facial oil you choose - if you’ve got acne-prone skin, you should look for anti-inflammatory products like tea tree oil and stay away from hydrating oils as they can block your pores.
Does facial oil cause acne?
If you’ve got oily, acne-prone skin, navigating the world of facial oils can be daunting - after all, applying oil onto already oily skin is heading for disaster, right?
Some facial oils can make acne worse, but the key is choosing the right one.
Look for facial oils that are anti-inflammatory and non-comedogenic, such as tea tree oil, rosehip oil, jojoba oil, grapeseed oil, squalene oil and hemp seed oil.
Many of these oils can reduce inflammation, kill acne-causing bacteria, reduce acne scars and texture, soothe angry skin and reduce the amount of sebum in your pores.
When should I use facial oil?
You should apply your skincare products from thinnest to thickest.
Your skincare products should generally go in this order: cleanser (or facial wash), toner, serum, moisturiser, and then facial oil.
Facial oil should always be the last step in your routine because oils are able to penetrate your other skincare products, whereas your other skincare products are unable to penetrate the oils.
