What is CeraVe Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser With Squalane?

This gentle, hydrating formula cleanses and replenishes the skin’s moisture levels to provide you with all day hydration. With each cleansing motion, CeraVe’s Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser will emulsify into a silky-soft foam that delicately buffs away excess dirt and impurities without damaging the skin’s protective barrier, perfect for those with very dry, sensitive and allergy-prone skin. Additionally, as this cleanser is non-comedogenic and fragrance-free, it’s ideal for the tender skin of eczema sufferers, too. Enriched with squalane, this oil-based cleanser nourishes the skin and locks in moisture, giving you supple, plumper skin that lasts for longer.

How to use this product

Take a pea-sized amount of cleansing oil into your hand and massage onto wet skin, ensuring that you emulsify the cleanser to achieve a foamy consistency. Rinse thoroughly, avoiding contact with your eyes. If you accidentally get this product into your eyes, rinse them immediately with clean water. CeraVe Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser is suitable for morning and evening use. For best results, follow with a CeraVe moisturiser.

What are the benefits of squalane?

Whereas other skincare treatments like hyaluronic acid increase the skin’s water content, squalane is a super-hydrator that acts as a barrier to keep moisture locked in so your skin is left feeling supple and soft for longer. Squalane behaves similarly to your own skin’s natural oils, making it a highly effective, non-comedogenic moisturiser for all skin types, especially for very dry skin. Additionally, it has anti-ageing properties and may reduce fine lines and soften texture, giving you a more youthful complexion.

Why is removing makeup so important?

If you wear makeup, removing it at the end of the day should be the most important part of your skincare routine. That’s because the skin renews overnight while you’re asleep, and by leaving your makeup on, you can end up preventing this essential process. When dirt and dead skin cells are not removed from your skin, they can end up clogging your pores and causing breakouts.

Does facial cleanser remove makeup?

A good facial cleanser will usually be enough to remove your makeup, as long as you’re massaging it into your skin properly and rinsing thoroughly. To remove your eye makeup, however, you should use an eye makeup remover or micellar water that is safe for use around your eyes.

How often should I wash my face if I’ve got dry skin?

If you’ve got dry or sensitive skin, it can be irritating if you wash your face twice a day. Use a creamy, gentle and hydrating facial wash at night and simply rinse your face with warm water in the morning.

What skin type do I have?

Determining your skin type is the first step in finding the skincare routine that’s right for you. If your skin produces too much sebum, it may become oily and you’ll probably find that your skin feels overly greasy and shiny. If you have dry skin, you could be suffering from skin that is rough, scaly or flaky. If you’ve got a combination skin type, you’ll probably find that the T-zone (forehead, nose and chin) will generally be oily and prone to blemishes.

When should this product not be used?

Do not use CeraVe Hydrating Foaming Oil Cleanser With Squalane if you are allergic to squalane or any of the other listed ingredients. For use on the skin only, avoid contact with eyes and do not swallow. Do not use on broken, bleeding, infected or otherwise damaged skin. If you experience any irritation while using this product, stop using it right away. If irritation persists, speak to your doctor or pharmacist as soon as possible. If irritation is severe (for example, symptoms of a severe allergic reaction), seek immediate medical assistance.
