Acne

When acne strikes it can make you feel very self-conscious as your skin becomes oily, sore, and covered with spots and blackheads.

Acne isn’t caused by poor hygiene or your diet, and sometimes even the most rigorous skincare routine can’t help to improve severe cases of acne. This is where prescription acne treatments can step in, with creams and antibiotics helping to reduce irritation and clear up your skin by killing excess bacteria.

Remember, your final treatment will be decided by our prescribers based on your answers provided within your consultation. You will be asked to indicate a preferred treatment option from a selected list after completion of your consult.

How do acne treatments work?

Acne treatments work by tackling the cause of your breakouts, whether that be bacteria, cell build-up, or hormonal changes, which is why there are so many different treatments available.

These treatments include Treclin gel, benzoyl peroxide, minocycline as well as other antibiotics and hormonal treatments like the contraceptive pill for women.

Prescription acne treatments can be ideal for those who have particularly severe acne, which can be determined by a quick consultation with one of our prescribers.

They’ll assess your condition, consider the potential cause of your acne, and if they agree that these treatments are right for you, they’ll write a prescription for your medication, which will be sent out to you quickly and discreetly.

Severe acne can usually be identified by the presence of particularly large spots or zits, which can be painful and may be accompanied by scarring.

Naturally, severe acne can be troubling, uncomfortable, and may knock your confidence, but a quick consultation could give your irritated skin what it needs to be able to take a breather.
