What is Allpresan Diabetic Foam Cream?

Allpresan Diabetic Foam Cream is part of the Allpresan foot care range for dry and sensitive skin caused by diabetes. It helps to hydrate the skin on the feet whilst providing a protective barrier that prevents skin infections and ulcerations.

How does diabetes cause dry and sensitive skin?

Although everyone can suffer from dry and sensitive skin, diabetics could be more at risk than the average person. This is due to diabetics experiencing a greater loss of fluid from the body caused by high glucose levels. This loss of fluid causes dry skin, particularly on the feet.

Importance of treating dry and sensitive skin.

Dry skin can become cracked and harbour germs which can cause infection. Even minor skin complaints can evolve into serious diabetic complications, such as diabetic foot ulcers and amputation, if they are not cared for effectively. Using a hydrating foot care cream or ointment such as Allpresan Diabetic Foam Cream can help moisturise and heal dry and sensitive skin before it causes a more serious skin complaint.

How does Allpresan Diabetic Foam Cream work?

Allpresan Diabetic Foam Cream contains three active ingredients which each work to treat and prevent dry sensitive foot skin caused by diabetes:

Urea

An organic compound that acts as a humectant (draws water into the skin).

Pentavitin

A plant extract with lots of hydrating properties and can provide a barrier against infection. Pentavin binds deep within the skin to provide long-lasting hydration that cannot be washed off as it is absorbed below the skin’s surface.

Panthenol

A pro-vitamin of B5 which is commonly used in moisturisers and emollients (topical relief for severely dry skin) and encourages cell growth.

These ingredients work together to moisturise and hydrate your skin, leaving it softer and suppler whilst providing a protective barrier against infection.  The cream is absorbed quickly and won’t leave behind a greasy film, which reduces risks of slipping and you can wear your stockings (including compression stockings) immediately after use.

How to use Allpresan Diabetic Foam Cream.

Shake the container well before each use and hold upright whilst applying. Apply a walnut-sized amount of Allpresan Diabetic Foam Cream to the affected areas.

When should Allpresan Diabetic Foam Cream NOT be used?

Allpresan Diabetic Foam Cream is not suitable for use by children under the age of 5. Do not use Allpresan Diabetic Foam Cream if you are allergic to any of the listed ingredients. Keep Allpresan Diabetic Foam Cream away from eyes, mucus membranes (e.g. nose, mouth, eyelids) and open wounds. Allpresan Diabetic Foam Cream is for external use only.
