How does trichloroacetic acid (TCA) treat warts & verrucas?
The active ingredient in Wartner Wart & Verruca Removal Pen is trichloroacetic acid (TCA) gel. TCA gel works as a chemical peel, destroying virus-infected cells and causing the dead skin to peel off. After that, healthy new skin is formed.
What causes warts & verrucas?
Warts and verrucas are caused by an infection called human papillomavirus (HPV) that creates an excess amount of keratin in the top layer of the skin. Keratin is a hard protein, so the extra keratin caused by HPV produces the rough, hard texture associated with warts and verrucas.
