How to use Balmosa Cream
Squeeze some Balmosa Cream onto the affected area and massage into the skin gently. Apply this cream as often as you need it. Remember to wash your hands after each application. Do not use with air and water tight dressings.
When should Balmosa Cream not be used?
Balmosa Cream is not suitable for use by children under the age of 12. Do not use this product if you are allergic to aspirin, any other Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDS) such as ibuprofen, or any of the listed ingredients in this product. For external use only, avoid contact with eyes or other mucous membranes, such as inside the nose. Do not apply to broken, inflamed, sore, or otherwise sensitive skin. Avoid exposing the treated area to too much sunlight after using this product. If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant, or are breastfeeding, speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using Balmosa Cream. Does this product have any side effects?
Like all medicines, Balmosa Cream can have side effects, although not everyone will experience them. These side effects include:
- Signs of allergic reaction, e.g. itching od redness of the skin, dizziness or fainting, faster heart rate, swelling of the face, tongue, and throat
- Worsening of asthma and wheezing or difficulty breathing

How to store this product
Store in a cool, dry place with a temperature below 25 degrees C. Keep out of sight and reach of children. Store in original packaging, out of direct sunlight. Do not use this product after the expiry date printed on the packaging has passed.

What are chilblains?
Chilblains are the painful inflammation of small blood vessels in your skin that occur in response to repeated exposure to the cold but not freezing air. Also known as pernio, chilblains can cause itching, red patches, swelling and blistering on your hands and feet.
Can you use Balmosa for chilblains?
Balmosa cream is one of the only few licensed preparations to soothe and relieve the pain associated with unbroken chilblains. Apply the cream to the affected area, massaging it gently into the skin.
Can I use Balmosa whilst breastfeeding?
There is no information available regarding the safety of this medicine during breastfeeding. Seek medical advice from your doctor.
How does Balmosa Cream work?
Balmosa cream contains a combination of menthol, camphor, methyl salicylate and oleoresin capsicum as active ingredients.
Menthol relieves itching and causes the blood vessels on the surface of the skin to widen. This causes a sensation of coldness followed by a reduction in pain.
Camphor, methyl salicylate and oloeresin capsicum are counter-irritants, which when applied, cause redness and heat to be produced. This distracts the brain from the original pain and therefore reduces the perception of pain.
Is Balmosa cream suitable for children?
Adults and children aged 12 years and older only, gently massage cream to the affected area(s). Wash hands after use. Use as often as required.
How do I use Balmosa?
Simply squeeze the cream onto the injured area and gently rub in allowing the warming effects of Balmosa to bring relief.
