What is Sterimar Stop and Protect Allergy Response nasal spray?
Sterimar Stop and Protect Allergy Response nasal spray is a natural seawater spray that both relieves and protects you from allergy symptoms. If you’re looking for a natural way to ease sneezing, congestion, and itching caused by hay fever or other allergies, this nasal spray could be the ideal solution. It’s free from preservatives, is easy to use, and can be used in children aged 3 and over as well as pregnant and breastfeeding mothers.
Why do I get hay fever and allergy symptoms?
When you have an allergy, including hay fever, it means that your body will respond when you come into contact with something that irritates you. Common allergens include pet fur, dust mites, mould spores, and the plant pollen which causes hay fever. When one of these gets into your system, your body will respond by causing uncomfortable symptoms designed to remove the irritant. Some of the most common hay fever and allergy symptoms include:
- Sneezing
- A blocked or runny nose
- Itching in your nose, eyes, ears, or throat
- Coughing
- Watery, red, irritated eyes
- An itchy skin rash
How will Sterimar Stop and Protect ease my allergy symptoms?
Sterimar Stop and Protect Allergy Response works as a moderately hypertonic solution, which means it has a higher salt concentration than our bodies. When you spray it into your nose, the salt levels cause something called the “osmosis effect”, which is a natural way to decongest your nasal passages. It also helps to reduce itching and neutralises the pathogens responsible for allergic reactions, helping to treat and protect your symptoms all in one.
Can I take this product during my pregnancy?
Sterimar Stop and Protect can be used during your pregnancy or while breastfeeding. However, we recommend speaking to your doctor or pharmacist before taking any medication during your pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Some products won’t be suitable for you during these times, but a medical professional can help you to be sure you’re taking the right treatment for you.
Can I use this nasal spray with my other allergy medicine?
Sterimar Stop and Protect Allergy Response is a medical device and doesn’t contain any preservatives, therefore it should not interact with your other medication. However, if you are taking any other medication, including allergy medications, herbal remedies, and medicines you obtained without a prescription, you should speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product. Some products can interact when used together, but a medical professional can help you to avoid any potential issues.
How to use this allergy nasal spray
Before using this product, gently blow your nose one nostril at a time and then shake the spray bottle. Remove the cover from the bottle and then insert the tip of the spray nozzle into one of your nostrils, keeping the bottle upright. Tilt your head slightly towards the side of the nostril being sprayed and press down on the nozzle to spray twice into your nostril, gently inhaling through the nose as you do so. Repeat the process in your other nostril. Leave the solution to work for a few minutes without wiping your nose, allowing any excess solution to drain, and then gently blow your nose if necessary. For best results, apply 2 sprays into each nostril up to 6 times a day.
When should this product not be used?
Sterimar Stop and Protect Allergy Response nasal spray is not suitable for children under the age of 3. Do not use this product if you are allergic to seawater or any of the listed ingredients. For use in the nose only, avoid contact with eyes and do not swallow. If you experience any irritation while using this product stop use. If irritation persists or is severe, speak to your doctor right away.
Does Sterimar Stop and Protect have any side effects?
