What is Sterimar Congestion Relief Sea Water Nasal Spray?

This Sterimar Congestion Relief Nasal Spray is a treatment that helps to provide relief for nasal congestion that makes breathing more difficult. This nasal spray does not contain any drugs, steroids, or preservatives. Instead, it uses natural seawater that has been diluted and enhanced with copper.

What causes a blocked nose?

A blocked nose is most likely caused by an infection such as a cold, or an allergy such as hay fever. The blockage occurs when the infection gets into the nose and causes irritation, which thickens the blood vessels and reduces the size of the airways. An infection will also increase mucus production to an excess, which causes it to become trapped in the chest, throat, and at the back of the nose. This causes a mucus cough.

Who is this nasal spray suitable for?

This Sterimar nasal spray is suitable to be used by adults and children aged 3 and over. It should not be used by anyone who is allergic to the ingredients contained in the spray. This nasal spray can be used by those who cannot use other types of medication.

Can this Sterimar decongestant be used by anyone pregnant or breastfeeding?

Anyone pregnant should speak to a medical professional before using this nasal spray. It can be used by someone who is breastfeeding without issues.

How should Sterimar Congestion Relief Sea Water Nasal Spray be used?

This spray can be used on its own for congestion relief or combined with another treatment. To use this spray, prime the nozzle by spraying once away from the face. Then insert the nozzle into the nostril and spray gently without breathing in or tilting the head. Once you have done this, allow excess liquid to flow out of the nose and then blow the nose. Once you have done this for one nostril, repeat the process for the other nostril.

Are there any side effects?

Any side effect is most likely to be caused by an allergic reaction. If you notice any side effect, stop using and speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist as soon as possible. Any side effect discovered can be recorded by using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.

What is Stérimar Baby Nasal Spray?

Stérimar Baby Nasal Spray is a natural seawater spray which is designed to help you to clear your baby’s blocked nose. If your baby is snuffly and stuffy, Stérimar could be the all-natural solution that will help them to breathe more easily and ease your worries. Suitable for use from birth, this nasal spray is gentle while still helping to clear your little one’s nose easily and effectively.

Why does my child have a blocked nose?

A blocked nose isn’t an unusual problem for young children, but it can make them feel uncomfortable and fussy. When you have a blocked nose, your nasal passages are usually swollen, which makes it difficult to breathe. A blocked nose can be caused by several conditions, but usually isn’t anything to worry about on its own. Some of the most common causes of a blocked nose include:

  • Cold and flu
  • Hay fever
  • Allergies
  • Sinusitis
  • Non-allergic rhinitis (inflammation inside the nose)

How will this product help to clear my baby’s blocked nose?

Stérimar Baby Nasal Spray contains 100% natural seawater, which helps to clear even thick mucus from your baby’s nose. When this mucous clears from your baby’s nose, they can breathe even through swollen nasal passages, making them feel more comfortable.

Can I use this product if my baby is taking other medication?

Stérimar products are free from steroids or drugs, and therefore should be safe to use with other medications. However, if you want to use Stérimar Baby for a little one who is taking other medication, you should speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using this product for the first time. Some medications can interact when used together, causing unwanted side effects or making your medication less effective, but a medical professional can help you to avoid this.

How to use Stérimar Baby Nasal Spray

Lie your baby on their side, or sit them up with their head turned to one side. Gently insert the nozzle of the nasal spray into your baby’s nose and press the nozzle briefly, this will spray the solution into your baby’s nose. Wipe away any excess spray that comes out of your baby’s nose and then repeat with the other nostril. Clean the nozzle of the spray with soap and water after each use.

When should this product not be used?

Stérimar Baby Nasal Spray is designed for use in babies aged 0 – 3 years, if you want to use a nasal spray for someone outside of this age range, consider choosing a different product which may be more suitable. Do not use this product if you or your baby are allergic to any of the listed ingredients.

Does this product have any side effects?

Like many products, this nasal spray can have side effects, although not everyone will experience them. If you experience any side effects while using this product, stop use and speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist right away. For more information about reporting the side effects of medication, please see the MHRA’s Yellow Card Scheme.
