Sambucol Extra Defence contains Vitamin C and zinc, which both support your body’s natural wound healing process. As well as this, Vitamin C helps to protect your cells, keeping them healthy while also helping your body to maintain healthy skin, blood vessels, bones and cartilage. Zinc helps to support your body in making new cells and enzymes, while also supporting the processing the carbohydrates, fat, and protein in your diet. Is this supplement suitable for children?
Sambucol Extra Defence is suitable for adolescents aged 12 and over and is not suitable for children under 12. Can I take this product if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding you should speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Sambucol Extra Defence. There are certain nutrients you will need to take throughout your pregnancy and afterwards to make sure that you’re supporting yourself and your baby in the best way possible. For example, you should be taking 400μg folic acid supplements every day at the beginning of your pregnancy. As this product will only be able to provide 300μg of folic acid a day at most, there may be other supplements that are better suited to give you the support your body needs at this time.
How to take this supplement
Take 10 - 15ml (2 - 3 teaspoons) of Sambucol Extra Defence liquid every day. This product should not be taken on an empty stomach, for best results take after a meal. Do not take more than the recommended daily dose.
When should this product not be used?
Sambucol Extra Defence liquid is not suitable for use in children under the age of 12. Do not take this product if you are allergic to black elderberry or any of the other listed ingredients. Do not take on an empty stomach. This product is a food supplement and should not be used in place of a balanced diet or healthy lifestyle. Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product if you are taking any medication or have an underlying medical condition.
How to store this product
Store in a cool, dry place which is below 25 degrees C. Do not use this product if the expiry date printed on the original packaging has passed. Keep out of sight and reach of children.
