What is Feroglobin Plus?

Feroglobin Plus is a great-tasting, lactose-free formula packed with iron, folate, vitamin D, Siberian Ginseng and more. Vitabiotics have developed this supplement to help those with tiredness and fatigue caused by low levels of vital nutrients like iron and vitamin B12 which contribute to normal energy release. Feroglobin Plus is suitable for men and women of all ages, particularly vegetarians, menstruating women, athletes and the over 50s.

What is the recommended dosage?

One teaspoon of Feroglobin Plus is approximately 5ml. Adult men and women should take one teaspoon twice a day. During menstruation, women should take one teaspoon three times a day. Ideally, you should take each dose with a main meal.

Supplements can be beneficial for your health if you don’t get enough essential vitamins and minerals through your diet alone. This medicine, however, is not a substitute for a varied, balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.

What is iron deficiency anaemia?

Iron deficiency anaemia occurs when your body doesn’t have enough iron to produce haemoglobin, a protein in red blood cells that allows them to carry oxygen around the body. It can be caused by a poor or restricted diet, blood loss, pregnancy and certain underlying medical conditions. The symptoms of iron deficiency anaemia include:

  • Tiredness and lack of energy

  • Shortness of breath

  • Heart palpitations

  • Pale skin

These symptoms may indicate that you have low levels of iron but they could be signs of another problem, like folate deficiency anaemia, that can cause similar symptoms. That’s why you should always consult your doctor to confirm your diagnosis - a simple blood test will indicate if you’re lacking in any essential vitamins or nutrients and will rule out other possible conditions.

Why is Feroglobin Plus recommended to menstruating women?

During a heavy period, some women can lose over 80ml of blood, potentially depleting their body’s iron stores in the process. Supplementing this iron with Feroglobin Plus can reduce their chances of developing iron deficiency, which is the most common nutrient deficiency in women.

Is Feroglobin Plus suitable for vegetarians?

As well as being suitable for vegetarians, Feroglobin Plus can be extremely beneficial too. A vegetarian diet can sometimes lead to iron deficiency due to a lack of iron-rich foods like red meat and shellfish, so using a supplement like Feroglobin Plus can keep nutrient levels where they should be. Please note: Feroglobin Plus is not suitable for vegans as the formula contains natural bees’ honey.

When should this medicine not be used?

Feroglobin Plus will be suitable for most adults, but you should check with your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have any pre-existing medical conditions - particularly epilepsy, a thyroid condition, haemochromatosis or food allergies - or if you take any other medications or herbal remedies, including those obtained without a prescription. Feroglobin Plus is not suitable for children.
