What is Oilatum Junior Emollient Bath Additive Light Liquid Paraffin?

This bath additive contains an emollient that helps to protect the skin from irritation and itching. The formula works to get under the skin and help restore the moisture that has been lost because of the skin condition. This formula is designed to treat the more sensitive skin of children and babies.

How does it work?

This bath additive works by forming a protective barrier over the skin, which helps to keep moisture in the skin. It helps to cleanse the skin all over and is not limited to the affected areas. As well as protecting the skin, it also hydrates and softens the skin.

Who is this bath additive suitable for?

It is suitable for children and babies who are suffering from dry skin and need relief. It is not suitable for anyone who is allergic to the ingredients contained in the bath additive. These are:

  • Light Liquid Paraffin
  • Acetylated Lanolin Alcohols
  • Isopropyl Palmitate
  • Polyethylene Glycol 400 Dilaurate
  • Macrogol Ester

Can this bath additive be used in conjunction with medication?

If your child takes any medication. It is advised that you speak to a doctor before using this bath formula. This is because there are ingredients that could potentially interfere with each other. At the same time, there is a chance that this bath formula can enhance the medication used. If you are treating eczema with a cream, then using this bath formula could help improve its effectiveness. This is because the bath formula works to moisturise the skin, which allows for more liquid to be retained in the skin. If you are using a cream, then more of it could be absorbed, improving the effectiveness.

How should Oilatum Junior Bath Formula be used?

To use this bath formula, add ½-2 for babies and 1-3 capfuls for older children of the formula into a bath. Apply the bath formula gently and with older children, allow for 10-20 minutes of soaking before drying. When drying, gently pat dry using a towel.

Are there any side effects?

A side effect is most likely the result of an allergic reaction. If you do notice an allergic reaction, speak to a doctor as soon as possible.
