What is Mycota Powder?

Mycota Powder is a treatment for athlete’s foot which targets the cause of infection while also stopping athlete’s foot from coming back. Simple to apply, just sprinkle the Mycota powder onto the affected area to treat infection and relieve symptoms.

What is athlete’s foot?

Athlete’s foot happens when fungi and bacteria that live on your skin are given the perfect environment in which to thrive, needing lots of warmth and moisture. When this happens, these fungi can infect your skin, giving you athlete’s foot.

How does Mycota Powder prevent and treat athlete’s foot?

Mycota Powder contains two active ingredients which can treat and prevent athlete’s foot, zinc undecylenate and undecylenic acid. These two ingredients have antifungal and antibacterial properties, meaning they kill the fungi and bacteria which cause athlete’s foot, treating the infection at it’s source.

Can I use this product if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

You should speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using Mycota Powder or any other medication while you are pregnant or breastfeeding. This will help you to be sure that your medication is safe for you and your baby.

How to use Mycota Powder

To treat athlete’s foot, first wash and dry the affected area every morning and every night. Then sprinkle Mycota Powder onto the affected area, making sure plenty of powder is applied between the toes. Wear clean socks or stockings and sprinkle the insides of these with Mycota Powder. Continue this treatment for one week after all signs of infection have disappeared.

To prevent athlete’s foot, simply sprinkle Mycota Powder into your socks or stockings every day.

When should Mycota Powder not be used?

Do not use Mycota Powder on broken skin. Keep Mycota Powder away from your eyes or other sensitive areas. Do not use Mycota Powder if you are allergic to any of the listed ingredients.

Does this product have any side effects?

Like all medicines, Mycota Powder can have side effects, but not everyone will experience them. These side effects include:

  • Skin redness
  • Skin itching
  • Allergic reactions

If you experience these or any other side effects while using Mycota Powder, stop using this product and contact your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist right away. For more information about reporting the side effects of medication, please see the MHRA’s Yellow Card Scheme.

If your foot is feeling a bit itchy, or dry, or smelling a bit funky then you might have picked up a nasty case of athlete’s foot.

The majority of talcum powders have multiple holes in the top to avoid any blockages.

If you wish for a single hole, I would suggest adding a piece of sellotape over the holes to avoid the flow of powder
