What is Daktarin Gold?
Daktarin Gold is a treatment for athlete’s foot which can also be used to treat inflamed sweat rash and jock itch. It tackles the cause of infection and helps to provide long-lasting protection from returning fungi or yeast which cause infections.
What is athlete’s foot?
Athlete’s foot is a fungal skin infection which often starts between your toes before spreading onto your foot. It causes itchy, red, and flaky skin which can make you feel uncomfortable and irritated, and will often be accompanied by an unpleasant ‘cheesy’ smell.
How does Daktarin Gold treat athlete’s foot and other skin infections?
Daktarin Gold contains the active ingredient ketoconazole, which works to destroy the fungi and yeast which cause skin infections such as athlete’s foot. By destroying these fungi, Daktarin Gold helps to treat the infection while protecting against further infections.

Hello, I have a fungal infection ( I believe it’s called pityriasis versicolor) and I want to get some information on products I can use. Thanks for your help.
Pityriasis versicolor, sometimes called tinea versicolor, is a common condition that causes small patches of skin to become scaly and discoloured.
Selenium sulfide topical to treat Tinea Versicolor. Also known as: Selsun
Antifungal shampoos (such as ketoconazole or selenium sulphide shampoo) are often the first treatment recommended for pityriasis versicolor.
In most cases, these shampoos need to be made into a lather and left on the affected areas of skin for 5 to 10 minutes before being rinsed off. This usually needs to be repeated every day for 5 to 7 days.
You may experience some skin dryness or irritation when using these shampoos, particularly selenium sulphide.
It may be helpful to dilute the shampoo with water before applying it. Some people also find the odour of selenium sulphide shampoo unpleasant.
