Daktacort Hydrocortisone Cream contains the active ingredients hydrocortisone acetate and miconazole nitrate, which work together to treat athlete’s foot or inflamed sweat rash. Hydrocortisone acetate works to relieve swelling, redness and itching in your skin, while miconazole nitrate destroys the fungi that cause infection.
How to use Daktacort Hydrocortisone Cream.
Before using Daktacort Hydrocortisone Cream, wash and dry the affected area thoroughly with your towel. Apply a small amount of Daktacort Hydrocortisone Cream to the affected area twice a day and rub in until the cream has disappeared. Wash your hands carefully after applying this product.
When should Daktacort Hydrocortisone Cream not be used?
Daktacort Hydrocortisone Cream is not recommended for use by children under the age of 10. If you are allergic to any of the listed ingredients, do not use Daktacort Hydrocortisone Cream. Do not use this product:
- If you have any other skin problems, such as cold sores, acne, herpes, chickenpox, or shingles.
- To treat any other infections that are caused by your initial infection.
- On large areas of your body.
- For more than 7 days at a time.
- On your face, eyes, or mucous membranes.
- On your anal or genital area.
- Under dressings or baby’s nappies.
- If your skin is broken.
- To treat ringworm.
As with any medication, Daktacort Hydrocortisone Cream can have side effects, although not everyone will experience them. These include:
- Skin irritation
- Burning sensation
- Itchy skin
- Hives
