What is Lamisil Gel?

Lamisil Gel is a treatment for athlete’s foot which provides relief from symptoms while tackling the cause of infection and providing lasting protection. It relieves itching and burning around the affected area, freeing you from discomfort caused by athlete’s foot or jock itch.

What causes athlete’s foot?

Athlete’s foot is caused by fungi which live on your skin. When these fungi are given a warm, moist environment (like between your toes if your feet sweat a lot and you wear tight fitting shoes) they thrive, causing infection in your skin. This is how you get athlete’s foot.

How does Lamisil Gel help to treat athlete’s foot?

Lamisil Gel contains the active ingredient terbinafine, which works as an antifungal agent. This means it works to tackle the fungi which cause athlete’s foot or other fungal skin infections, treating the cause of the infection. It also helps to soothe symptoms of itching and burning caused by infection.

How to use Lamisil Gel.

Apply Lamisil Gel once a day for one week. Before using Lamisil Gel, wash your hands and make sure the affected area is clean and dry. Apply a small amount of Lamisil Gel to the affected area and rub in gently. Wash your hands after using Lamisil Gel.

When should Lamisil Gel not be used?

Lamisil Gel is not suitable for use by those under the age of 16. Do not use Lamisil Gel if you are allergic to any of the listed ingredients. Do not use Lamisil Gel on the eyes, mouth, face, or on damaged skin.

As with all medicines, Lamisil Gel can have side effects, although not everyone will get them. These side effects include:

  • Skin peeling
  • Itching

This is my second tube of this. It's slowly getting rid of the irritation that I have, but it's seemingly taking ages! Longer than I thought.
