Nystaform HC Ointment is a light yellow topical medicine used to treat skin infections caused by either fungi and/or bacteria, such as ringworm and athlete’s foot.
How Nystaform HC Ointment works
Nystaform HC Ointment treats mixed fungal and bacterial skin infections and contains nystatin, chlorhexidine and hydrocortisone. Nystatin kills fungi, chlorhexidine kills bacteria, and hydrocortisone reduces inflammation, itching and redness.
Directions
Always use Nystaform HC Ointment exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you. For application to the skin only. Apply the ointment to the infected area two or three times daily. Continue treatment for a maximum of seven days.
Side effects
Like all medicines, Nystaform HC Ointment may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. If a new infection appears, stop using Nystaform HC Ointment and consult your doctor. An alternative treatment may be required.
Prolonged use of Nystaform HC Ointment can cause withdrawal reactions after stopping, including skin redness beyond the treated area, burning or stinging, intense itching, peeling skin and oozing sores. These reactions may occur during treatment or within days to weeks after stopping.
If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
Serious side effects
Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.
Warnings
Nystaform HC Ointment may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not use this product if you are allergic to nystatin, chlorhexidine acetate, hydrocortisone or any of the other listed ingredients. Do not use this product if you have tuberculosis of the skin. Do not smoke or go near naked flames while using this product, as there is a risk of severe burns. Fabric (clothing, bedding, dressings, etc.) that has been in contact with this product burns more easily and is a serious fire hazard. Washing clothing and bedding may reduce product build-up, but not totally remove it.

Tell your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might be taking any other medicines.

Do not use Nystaform HC Ointment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby. Storage information
Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place out of sight and reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date, referring to the last day of the month stated on the packaging. Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste.
