What is Eucerin Intensive Hand Cream 5% Urea W/ Lactate?

Eucerin Intensive Hand Cream is a form of treatment designed to help moisturise dry or rough hands. The formula in the cream is designed to keep the risk of irritation and allergies to a minimum. Hands are in contact with more things than anything else so it is important to ensure that they are looked after. It is fragrance-free and colour free.

How does this Eucerin Hand Cream work?

This hand cream works by restoring the moisture that has been lost. It does this thanks to two ingredients, urea and lactate. Urea and lactate are both ingredients that are in the skin naturally, which will have been reduced in the dry and rough skin. Urea and lactate in the cream will soothe and moisturise the skin, quickly helping it to regain lost moisture.

Who is this hand cream suitable for?

This hand cream is suitable for anyone who is suffering from dry, rough, skin on the hands and wants to rehydrate the skin. It is not suitable for anyone who is allergic to the ingredients in the cream.

Can this hand cream be used by someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding?

There is no reason why someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding cannot use this hand cream. However, if you are unsure if you should use it or not, speak to your doctor.

Can this hand cream be used when taking medication?

If you are using treatment for conditions such as eczema, using this hand cream may benefit you. This is because the ingredients urea and lactate help increase the amount of moisture absorbed in the skin. If you are using a cream for eczema, then more of the cream will be absorbed into the skin, improving the effectiveness of it. However, there is no guarantee this will be the case, as some medications may not work when using this hand cream. This is because the ingredients in the medication could interfere with the hand cream and they end up neutralising each other.

How should Eucerin Intensive Hand Cream 5% Urea W/ Lactate be used?

To use this hand cream, squeeze a small amount of the cream onto your hand and massage it into the skin until it is completely absorbed. Use it as many times as necessary. Remember to only use on the skin. If you get it in your eye, rinse it out with lukewarm water.

Are there any side effects?

A side effect will most likely be as a result of an allergic reaction. If you notice any side effect, contact your doctor as soon as possible. If you notice any side effect, then you can also record it using the MHRA's Yellow Card Scheme. For more information, see the Yellow Card website.
