Frequently Asked Questions

What is CBD?

CBD is one of the many naturally-occurring compounds that are specific to the cannabis family of plants. It’s perhaps the second most well-known after THC. CBD is an acronym for the compound’s full name – cannabidiol. Cannabidiol products have become popular in the UK over the last few years since products containing the cannabinoid started to appear on high street shelves. Since then, the potential for CBD products has evolved, as has the quality of them. Cannabidiol isn’t the same as medical marijuana, as the CBD products that you can buy online and in high street stores aren’t actually medicines, as they aren’t licenced to treat any condition or ailment. However, anecdotal advice and some preliminary studies suggest that it may have certain benefits, but much more research is needed before any claims can be made about how CBD may be able to help you.

How do you take CBD oil?

Start by shaking the bottle and measure 0.5 - 1ml by squeezing the pipette.

Drop the oil underneath your tongue and hold it there for 90 seconds.

After, swallow the remaining oil and get ready to feel good.

The same method applies whether you’re taking your CBD oil during the day or at night.

How much CBD oil should I take?

If you’re a CBD first-timer, your goal should be finding the right dosage that works for you.

Start with one measurement of 10mg of CBD oil per day, and apply the drops one to three times, depending on what you’d like to achieve.

You should start low and go slow for three days to see the effects, and if you’d like to increase the dosage, double it and try it again for three days.

Is CBD legal in the UK?

The short answer is yes – mostly. CBD is legal within the UK as long as it contains no more than 0.2% THC. As most CBD products are made from industrial hemp, the THC content is naturally quite low anyway, and further steps are often taken to ensure that it is as low as possible before being made into various products for public sale. All of Cannaco’s CBD mist sprays and oil drops contain 0% THC, so you can be absolutely sure that they’re perfectly legal to possess and use within the UK. CBD is not a controlled substance within the UK as long as it adheres to the strict rules. However, THC is, which is what may cause some confusion about the legality of cannabidiol products, as both cannabinoids come from the same family of plants. THC is a cannabinoid that has mind-altering properties, but CBD doesn’t, meaning that it doesn’t have the same effect on your brain or body when you ingest it. Because of this, and the alleged therapeutic benefits of cannabidiol, CBD is legal to use in the UK in various products, as long as it contains less than 0.2% THC. In addition to this, unless CBD is being used in a medical setting, products containing the cannabinoid shouldn’t claim to be treatments or medications, as they are not licenced for these purposes. However, many people do find that they feel some benefit to using CBD in their daily life, but more scientific and medical research is needed before it can be considered as a treatment for any condition or ailment.
