The BioSURE Ovarian Function test is an at-home ovarian reserve test that measures your Anti-Mullerian Hormone (AMH) level. This ovarian reserve testing kit assesses the health of your ovaries which is important for fertility and identifying the start of menopause.
How to use
When you receive the test kit, all you need to do is take a simple finger prick sample, using the lancets that are provided in the box. Once you have done this, you can then register it online and post your kit to the laboratory using the envelope enclosed.
Your results are reviewed by the in-house GPs who will highlight any cause for concern that may need further investigation by your doctor. You will receive your full report via email. This will show your results and how they compare with the normal reference ranges. You should expect to get your results the day after the lab receives your sample.
What is the Anti-Mullerian Hormone?
AMH is a hormone made in your ovarian follicles, where your eggs develop. Your levels of Anti-Mullerian Hormone peak in your early adulthood and begin to naturally decline as you get older. The levels of AMH can’t tell you the health or quality of your eggs. Having a lower level of AMH makes it more difficult to conceive, but it doesn’t mean you will not get pregnant.
Who should use this kit?
This kit is useful if you are planning to get pregnant or if you believe you have symptoms that suggest you are heading towards menopause. The testing kit is helpful for understanding your levels of AMH as those levels correspond with the amount of eggs you have left.
