What are Remegel Original Indigestion Chews?
Remegel is a flavoured, chewable tablet that is an effective form of relief from a number of conditions:
- Indigestion
- Heartburn
- Excess stomach acid
What is indigestion?
Indigestion can be characterised by a pain in the upper abdomen, known as dyspepsia. Heartburn can also be caused by indigestion. Indigestion is often caused by the stomach acid coming into contact with the protective lining of the stomach. This contact can lead to inflammation of the digestive system. However, many people who suffer from indigestion do not feel this, and instead, it is believed to be because of sensitivity in the digestive system. Indigestion is often triggered by eating certain foods as well as smoking, drinking, stress, pregnancy, as well as certain types of medication.
What is heartburn?
Heartburn, also called acid reflux, is when stomach acid goes up into the throat, causing a burning feeling in the chest and throat. Like indigestion, heartburn is caused by certain foods, drinks, smoking, pregnancy, stress and also medications like anti-inflammatory painkillers (e.g. ibuprofen).
Who is Remegel suitable for?
Remegel tablets are suitable for adults and children aged 12 and over. They are not suitable for anyone who is allergic to the ingredients contained in the tablets.
Are Remegel suitable for someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding?
It can be used by someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding. However, there is evidence of complications if used in the first 4 months of pregnancy. Therefore, caution is advised.
Can these tablets be used with other medication?
If you are taking antibiotics or medication for diabetes, then it recommended that you do not take these tablets.
Are there any side effects?
The most likely case is that any side effect will be as a result of an allergic reaction. If you do notice a side effect, then you should contact your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist as soon as possible.
