What is Oral B Mint Floss?
Oral B Mint Floss is a minty waxed dental floss that can help you to clean all of the areas that your toothbrush struggles to reach. It fits between your teeth, lifting away plaque and debris that can get stuck between them, leaving your mouth feeling fresh and cleaner than ever. Oral B Essential Floss is available in regular or minty floss.
Why do I need to floss my teeth?
If you don’t brush and floss your teeth regularly, you can experience a build up of dental plaque, which is harmful to your teeth. When you brush, you remove a lot of the plaque that builds up on your teeth, but even the best toothbrush can struggle to reach into the gaps between your teeth and clear plaque from there. This is why flossing is an essential part of your dental care routine, helping you to clean plaque from the places a regular toothbrush can’t reach.
What is dental plaque?
Dental plaque is a colourless, sticky film that builds up on your teeth throughout the day. It’s made up of harmful bacteria that can damage your teeth if they’re left uncleaned. The best way to remove plaque from your teeth is to brush and floss your teeth regularly, following a proper dental care routine. This will help to reduce your chances of tooth decay and gum disease.
How often should I floss my teeth?
You should make sure to floss once or twice a day, flossing at the same time as you brush your teeth so you’ll always remember to keep up with it. If you floss at the end of the day then you’ll be removing plaque and food from between of your teeth which can build up during the day.
How to use Oral B Floss
Break off a length of Oral B Floss and use it to reach into the gaps between your teeth, cleaning plaque away from areas you can’t reach when brushing. Use a gentle rocking motion to work the floss between your teeth, rather than forcing it into the gaps of the teeth. You can also use dental floss to wrap around the teeth and clean plaque build up from the gum line, helping to keep your teeth healthy.
Will my gums bleed when I floss my teeth?
When you begin flossing for the first time, you may find that your gums bleed a little after you do. You should continue to floss regularly however, as your gums will become healthier over time and will stop bleeding, so don’t be discouraged.
