What is Oilatum Bath Formula?

Oilatum Bath Formula is designed to treat dry and sensitive skin. It is added to bath water which forms and soothing bath that is an emollient which will help to rehydrate the skin that has become dry.

How does it work?

It works by utilising the emollient in the formula to hydrate the dry skin by helping the skin absorb more water. As well as this, Oilatum Bath Formula softens and protects the skin from further dryness and irritation.

Who is Oilatum Bath Formula suitable for?

This bath formula is suitable for adults and children. Though, it should not be used by anyone who is allergic to the ingredients contained in it, which are:

  • Paraffinum Liquidum
  • Isopropyl Palmitate
  • PEG-8 Dilaurate
  • Cetyl Acetate
  • PEG-40 Sorbitan Peroleate
  • Stearyl Acetate
  • Oleyl Acetate
  • Acetylated Lanolin Alcohol
  • Parfum

Can this be used by someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding?

There is no evidence of any problems when using this bath formula if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, but if you are unsure speak to your doctor.

Can it be used when using medication?

When taking medication, it is recommended that you speak to a doctor before using Oilatum. This is because there is a chance that the ingredients in the medication interfere with it. On the flip side, there could be benefits if you are using treatment for conditions such as eczema, as the hydrated skin as a result of using Oilatum Bath Formula will make the skin absorb more liquids. This, however, is not guaranteed.

How should Oilatum Bath Formula be used?

For adults, add 1-3 capfuls of the solution to a 20cmdepth bath. Use for 20 minutes before drying by gently patting the skin dry. For children, add ½ to 2 capfuls, depending on age, amount of the formula in bath water and apply oven the skin gently with a sponge. Pat dry with a towel afterwards.

Are there any side effects?

A side effect will most likely be as a result of an allergic reaction. If you notice a side effect, contact a doctor as soon as possible.
