Exorex Lotion is a form of treatment for the skin that uses coal tar extract to reduce the itching and irritation in the skin. This lotion is designed as a treatment for psoriasis.
This lotion works by going deep into the skin and treating the cause of the itching. The coal tar has anti-bacterial properties which help to treat psoriasis in the skin. Alongside treating the bacteria, this lotion will also help the skin become soft.
This lotion is suitable to be used by adults and children. It should not be used by anyone who is allergic to the ingredients contained in the lotion. These are:
You should also not use this lotion if you suffer from acne, inflammation of the hair follicles, your skin is sensitive to sunlight, you have a condition called lupus erythematosus, you have open wounds or your skin is infected. Do not use this lotion on the genital area.
It can be used by someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding. However, it is recommended that you only use it intermittingly and in small amounts. This is because there is no evidence of any problems but full safety cannot be guaranteed. If you are unsure, then speak to your doctor before using.
There is no evidence of any problems or any benefits to using this lotion with other types of medication. Therefore, it is recommended that you speak to a doctor before using.
For adults and children aged 12 and over, to use this lotion make sure that the skin is clean and apply the lotion in a thin layer. Do this up to 3 times a day. Massage the skin gently and leave it to dry. For children under the age of 12, mix the lotion with boiled and cooled water in the palm of the hand.
Using this lotion may cause skin irritation. If this does occur, then you should stop using it and contact your doctor as you may have suffered from an allergic reaction.
