What is Eucerin Replenishing Face Cream 5% Urea with Lactate?

This is a face cream that contains the ingredient urea, which is naturally found in the skin. This helps to retain moisture in the skin. It is fragrance-free and colour free. This cream is suitable for dry, irritated skin as well as conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.

How does it work?

It works by restoring the moisture lost in the skin caused by the skin condition present. The cream, in particular, the ingredients urea and lactate, help to restore the moisture and build up a barrier to protect the skin from further dryness and irritation.

Who is this face cream suitable for?

It is suitable for those who have dry skin on the face and want an effective way of restoring moisture into the skin. It is not suitable for anyone who is allergic to any of the ingredients contained in the cream.

This cream can be used under makeup and after shaving.

Can someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding use this face cream?

There is no evidence of any reason for someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding do not use this face cream. Though it is recommended that if you are unsure, speak to a doctor before using.

Can this cream be used in conjunction with medication?

If you are taking medication for eczema, such as a cream, then this face cream could provide benefits. This is because the urea in the cream helps the skin to retain moisture, so another cream being used will be absorbed more, increasing its effectiveness. This isn’t a guarantee, as the face cream could interfere with some types of medication and neutralise it.

What is the best way to use this Eucerin Face Cream?

To use this face cream, wash your face and dry it by gently patting it down with a towel. Be careful not to rub too heavily with the towel as that can cause irritation. Then massage the cream into your face and neck. Be careful not to get any in an eye. If you do, rinse it out thoroughly with lukewarm water.

Are there any side effects to using this face cream?

A side effect will most likely be caused by an allergic reaction. If you do notice a side effect, contact a doctor as soon as possible. If you have a side effect, then you can record it using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
