What is Diprobase Cream Emollient?

Diprobase Cream Emollient is a hydrating cream which can help to relieve dry skin or symptoms of eczema. It can be applied whenever you need to moisturise your dry skin, offering protection for raw or inflamed areas. You can even use it before a bath to keep your skin from drying out any further.

Who is Diprobase Cream suitable for?

Diprobase is perfect for adults and children who suffer from dry or chapped skin, or eczema. If your skin is dry and itchy, this emollient could be the perfect product to manage your symptoms and help to protect your sensitive skin.

What is eczema?

Eczema is a common skin condition which can cause dry, red, and sensitive skin. It can occur in small patches in places like your hands, elbows, or knees, or be more widespread across the body. When you have eczema, you may not suffer from dry skin all the time but may have ‘flare-ups’ which happen when your skin is exposed to irritants or allergens, or even just due to stress or hormonal changes. Some of the most common symptoms of eczema include:

  • Dry skin
  • Itching
  • Redness
  • Soreness
  • Inflamed skin
  • Cracked skin

How will this emollient ease my eczema?

Diprobase Cream contains the active ingredients of chlorocresol and cetostearyl alcohol. Chlorocresol has antiseptic, antibacterial, and antifungal properties, which helps to protect sensitive skin from further irritation. Cetostearyl alcohol helps this emollient to penetrate the skin, so it can hydrate and moisturise effectively.

Can I use this if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding you should speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using this or any other medications. Some medicines may not be suitable for you and your baby at this time, and a medical professional can ensure that you are using a product which is safe for both of you.

Can I use this product if I am on another medication?

If you are using other medication, especially topical medications which are applied to the skin, speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using this product. Some medications can interact when used together, causing unwanted side effects or making your medication less effective.

Do I need a prescription to buy this product?

You do not need a prescription to buy this product, you can buy it over the counter whenever you need it.

How to use Diprobase Cream

Apply Diprobase Cream to the affected area in a thin layer, making sure to cover the area entirely. Massage the cream thoroughly but gently into the skin. If you are unsure about how often you should use this product, speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist for advice.

When should Diprobase Cream Emollient not be used?

Do not use Diprobase Cream Emollient if you are allergic to chlorocresol, cetostearyl alcohol, or any of the other listed ingredients. The active ingredients in this product may rarely cause skin reactions, such as contact dermatitis or allergic reactions. Keep any fabric which has come into contact with this cream away from sources of fire, such as lit cigarettes, as it is extremely flammable.

Excellent service from this company. Usually get Diprobase and Hydrocortisone cream from my doctor and while my prescriptions are free, there is no bus service into the town and I have to pay £16 for a taxi there and back. It was such a Godsend for me to find this site. Delivered very quickly and packaged well. A very happy customer (oh and free postage!!)
