What is QV Cream?
QV Cream is an effective, soothing moisturiser formulated for dry skin. The highly concentrated, rich formula provides hydration to soften dry, irritated skin. QV Cream is free from harsh fragrances, colours, lanolin and other irritants so is suitable for sensitive skin. This product can be used to relieve the symptoms of dry skin by preventing moisture loss to keep your skin soft, supple and hydrated. The emollient properties help to restore the skin’s normal condition and the gentle formulation is suitable for all the family including infants, children and the elderly.
What causes dry skin?
Dry skin can be caused by both health and environmental factors.
Environmental factors
Our skin has to cope with a lot of harsh factors in our environment which can cause dry skin. Variations in the weather can cause temperatures and humidity levels to drop, which can dry out the skin. Sources of heat, such as central heating, fireplaces and heaters can reduce the amount of moisture in the air which can cause the skin to dry out. Spending extended periods of time in chlorinated swimming pools or hot baths and showers with harsh soaps can strip our skin of its natural oils which can cause is to feel dry and irritated.
Skin Conditions
There are many skin conditions that can cause dry skin:
- Eczema – causes the skin to become dry, itchy and uncomfortable
- Psoriasis – causes patches of red scaly skin that is sensitive
- Ichthyosis – causes widespread thick, dry, scaly skin
How can QV Moisturiser soothe dry skin?
QV Cream can be highly effective when treating dry skin, due to it’s high concentration emollient formula. It protects the skin from moisture loss by sealing the skin’s own natural moisture and keeping the skin hydrated. The cream can be applied as often as it is needed throughout the day to provide relief. The gentle formula is suitable for use on all the family including babies, children and the elderly.
How to use this product
Apply to the affected areas as often as required. It is recommended to apply this product after bathing, showering, shaving, exposure to harsh climatic conditions and at night.
Warnings
This product contains paraffin which can become flammable when it soaks into fabric. Avoid smoking or going near anyone who is smoking or using naked flames, such as candles, gas cookers or heaters. Change your clothing and bedding frequently whilst using this product to avoid risk of fire and wash fabrics that have come into contact with this product at a hotter temperature. Avoid the use of candles, electric blankets, overload plug sockets or place hot hair tools on the bed when using this product.
When NOT to use this product
Do NOT use this product if you are allergic to any of the ingredients (see ingredients tab for full list). This product is suitable for external use only. Do NOT apply this product to wounds and avoid contact with eyes during application. Avoid using soap on the affected areas to prevent irritation. If irritation occurs when using this product, discontinue use.
