Buy Betacap

Betacap is a topical treatment for dry, itchy and irritated skin on the scalp that normally occurs due to psoriasis, eczema or dermatitis.

How Betacap works

Betacap contains the active ingredient betamethasone which is a corticosteroid. It works by reducing inflammation and calming down your immune system.

The product also works as an antiseptic, making the scalp more comfortable.

Directions

Always use Betacap exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you.

Adults

Use Betacap twice daily, morning and evening. On days when you shampoo your hair, apply the product after drying the hair.

Hold the nozzle against the part of the scalp you wish to treat. Squeeze the bottle until the area is covered with a thin layer of the product. Gently massage it into the scalp. Allow the treated scalp to dry naturally, do not use a hairdryer. Wash your hands after use.

Children

We cannot prescribe Betacap from our clinic for use in anyone under 18 years old. If your child is suffering from scalp issues, please contact their G.P.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Betacap may cause side effects in some people, but these won’t affect everybody. Common side effects include:

  • Skin irritation
  • Local skin thinning and adrenal suppression
  • Steroid withdrawal reaction
  • Blurred vision

If you experience any side effects, including any not included in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.

Serious side effects

Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.
