What is Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser?

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is a solution to help to keep skin healthy and smooth when it prone to dryness and sensitivity. This cleanser strips away what is not needed, such as dry and dead skin, and is gentle enough to be used on skin that becomes irritated easily. This cleanser also restores the skin’s natural pH balance.

What causes dry skin?

Dry skin is something that can be caused by a number of factors. The result is a damaged skin barrier that allows moisture to escape the skin. Factors that cause dry skin include both external and internal factors. External causes of dry skin include:

  • Weather conditions
  • Seasonal – winter and summer especially
  • UV sunlight
  • Frequently washing
  • Using strong soaps
  • Certain types of medication

When it comes to internal causes, these can be any of the following:

  • Hormonal changes such as menopause
  • Genetics – some people naturally have drier skin than others
  • Diet
  • Ageing

Some of these cannot be controlled but with the right treatment, effects can be reduced.

Who is this skin cleanser suitable for?

This Cetaphil Skin Cleanser can be used by anyone who is suffering from dry, sensitive skin. It should not be used by anyone who is allergic to the ingredients contained in the cleanser. It can be used as a supplement for treatment for conditions such as eczema and psoriasis. If you are using medication for another condition, speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist.

Can someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding use this cleanser?

There is no evidence of any problems when pregnant or breastfeeding, though a medical professional should be consulted for advice before using.

How should Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser be used?

Apply the cleanser to the affected areas of the skin and massage it in gently with water. After rinsing, pat the skin dry with a soft towel. Remove any excess with cotton wool or paper tissue. This cleanser can be used daily for makeup removal or to keep the skin moisturised.

Are there any side effects?

Any side effect is most likely to be caused by an allergic reaction. If you notice a side effect, stop using and speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist as soon as possible. A side effect can also be recorded using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
