What are mouth ulcers?
Mouth ulcers happen quite commonly and many people suffer with them. They form on the insides of your mouth, your cheeks, your tongue, or on your lips. They cannot always be prevented but they usually heal by themselves in up to two weeks. They can be irritating and painful when you eat, drink or talk.
How will Orajel Mouth Gel help to relieve painful mouth ulcers?
Orajel Mouth Gel contains the active ingredient benzocaine, which relieves pain in the area of application. It works as a local anaesthetic, numbing the painful area and easing your pain straight away.
How to use Orajel Mouth Gel.
Using a clean finger, apply a pea-sized amount of Orajel Mouth Gel to the affected area of your mouth. You can use this product up to four times every day for fast pain relief. Avoid drinking hot drinks while using Orajel Mouth Gel.
When should Orajel Mouth Gel not be used?
Orajel Mouth Gel is not suitable for children under the age of 12. Do not use this product if you are allergic to benzocaine, sorbic acid, or any of the other listed ingredients. If you have been told by your doctor that you have difficulty converting methaemoglobin in your blood into haemoglobin, do not use Orajel Mouth Gel. This product is not suitable for those who are also taking any antibiotics called sulphonamides, such as co-trimoxazole. If you experience any irritation or side effects while using Orajel Mouth Gel, stop use and speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist right away.
