Ibuleve Speed Relief contains the active ingredient ibuprofen, which is part of a group of medicines known as Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs, or NSAIDs. This means that ibuprofen isn’t just an effective painkiller, but it can help to ease inflammation and swelling in the affected area too.
How to use Ibuleve Speed Relief gel
Squeeze 2 – 5cm of gel directly onto the affected area, using enough to cover the entire area with a thin layer of gel. Gently massage into the area, rubbing into the skin until gel is absorbed. Do this up to 3 times a day, taking care not use more than 15cm of gel in any 24 – hour period. Wash your hands after using this product, unless you are treating your hands.
When should Ibuleve Speed Relief not be used?
Ibuleve Speed Relief is not suitable for use on children under the age of 12. Do not use this product if you are allergic to ibuprofen or any of the other listed ingredients. Do not apply this gel to broken, damaged, infected, inflamed, diseased, or sensitive skin. For external use only, avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and nose. Do not use Ibuleve Speed Relief if you:
- Are asthmatic, suffer from rhinitis, or hives and have ever had a bad reaction to aspirin, ibuprofen or other NSAIDs in the past
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have severe joint pain that has recently developed and is not related to an injury or period of overuse
- Feel ill, have a temperature, or any other symptoms accompany the pain
Speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using this product if you:
- Have a stomach ulver
- Have ever had kidney problems
- Have ever had asthma
- Have ever had a bad reaction to aspirin or ibuprofen taken by mouth

Does this product have any side effects?
Like all medicines, Ibuleve Speed Relief can have side effects, although not everyone will experience them. These side effects include:
- Mild skin rashes
- Itching
- Skin irritation in area of application
- Allergic reactions, e.g. unexplained runny nose or watery eyes, breathing difficulties, wheezing, itching, swelling, redness, blisters, swelling of facial features, difficulty swallowing, nausea
- Kidney problems, e.g. less urine than usual, loss of appetite, weight loss, swelling of abdomen
- Digestive system problems e.g. stomach pain, heartburn, indigestion
