What is BetterYou Vitamin D Spray?

BetterYou Vitamin D Spray is a peppermint flavoured oral spray containing 25μg (1000IU) of vitamin D, one of the main vitamins that most of us here in the UK need to supplement. This product is suitable for adults and adolescents, with each bottle containing a three-month supply.

What is the recommended dosage?

The recommended dosage of BetterYou Vitamin D Spray is one spray per day. Shake well before use. Spraying underneath the tongue or on the inside of the cheek is the most effective way to ensure all of the vitamin D is absorbed by the body. You can take BetterYou Vitamin D Spray at any time of the day, with or without food. Do not exceed the recommended dose, as excess amounts may cause a laxative effect.

Why do we need vitamin D?

Vitamin D is responsible for regulating the amount of calcium and phosphate in the body - these nutrients are vital for keeping our bones, teeth and muscles healthy. A lack of vitamin D can lead to deformities such as rickets in children and a condition called osteomalacia that causes bone pain in adults. Our bodies produce vitamin D upon exposure to sunlight, but most people in the UK and other northern countries won’t be exposed to enough sunlight during the autumn and winter - this is why a vitamin D supplement is recommended for most of us.

When should BetterYou Vitamin D Spray not be used?

BetterYou Vitamin D Spray will usually be suitable for most adults and children over 13 years old. You should not, however, take this supplement if:

  • You are allergic to vitamin D or any of the other ingredients

  • You have high levels of vitamin D in your blood

Speak to your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist before taking this supplement if you have any underlying medical conditions or if you are taking any other medicines or herbal remedies, including those obtained without a prescription.

Are there any side effects?

It is very unlikely that you will experience any side effects from taking BetterYou Vitamin D Spray. If you experience any symptoms of an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, skin rash) seek medical attention immediately.

If you experience any side effects, including those that are not listed in the patient information leaflet, you can report them using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
