What is Babystart FertilCheck Female Fertility Test?

Babystart FertilCheck Female Fertility Test allows you to test your fertility levels in the privacy and comfort of your own home. Whether you’re thinking about trying for a baby or you’re currently trying, it’s a good idea to have an insight into your fertility health to prevent problems further down the line. This test is over 99% accurate and easy to use, and better yet, you can get your results in as little as 5 minutes. This product contains 2 tests.

How to use this product

Always use Babystart FertilCheck Female Fertility Test exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you. To use, hold the test in your urine stream or dip the absorbent tip of the test vertically into the urine collected into a clean, dry container for 10 to 15 seconds.

If testing in your urine stream, it should be done midstream meaning that you pass some urine before you place the test in the stream. Replace the cap and lay the test flat with the windows facing upwards and wait 5 minutes before reading the results. Do not read the results after 10 minutes.

Reading your results is simple. A positive result is indicated by the presence of two red lines, one in the test window and one in the control window. The line in the test window must be the same or darker red than the line in the control window. A positive result may suggest that your fertility is reduced. If you get a positive result, we recommend that you discuss this with your doctor who will be able to carry out further tests.

A negative result is indicated by either the presence of two red lines where the line in the test window is a lighter red than the line in the control window or when there is no line in the test window at all. A negative result suggests that you are fertile. The result is invalid if no red line appears in the control window, even if a line appears in the test window. If this happens, you should repeat the test.

How does Babystart FertilCheck Female Fertility Test work?

This fast and reliable test works by detecting raised levels of the follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) in urine – an indication of reduced ovarian reserve. In other words, this test can provide an insight into how fertile you are.

How can I increase my chances of conceiving?

If you’re trying for a baby, there are a few things you can do that can increase your chances of conceiving. You should aim to have sex every 2 - 3 days or around the time that you’re ovulating (about 12 - 16 days before your period starts, but you can take an ovulation test for a more accurate reading). You should also try to maintain a healthy weight, stop smoking and reduce your alcohol intake.

When does your fertility decrease?

A woman’s fertility is at its highest between the late teens and late 20s. Once you reach 30, your ability to get pregnant can start to decline, and it will typically decline more rapidly once you reach your mid-30s (around age 35). By 45, it will usually be very difficult for you to become pregnant naturally.
