Face Waxing Tips
Waxing can be one of the fastest ways to remove unwanted facial hair and salon-quality results can be achieved at home. Here are some tips to help you get the most out of your facial wax
Allow hair growth before waxing
Let your hair grow until it is at least ¼ of an inch before you decide to wax it, to lessen pain and make waxing more effective.
Cleanse your face
Gently cleanse your face before waxing to loosen dead cells and lift hair up from the skin.
Keep away from cosmetics
Avoid applying make-up or cream to your face before waxing, as these products will interfere with the application of wax or get inside hair follicles which can lead to infection.
Wash your hands
Clean hands reduce the risk of rashes, irritation and infection.
Don’t wax more than twice
Don’t wax over the same area more than twice.
Soothe your skin
Waxing can be quite harsh on your skin. Apply an after-wax lotion or gel that contains aloe vera.
How does Veet for Face work?
Veet for face provides up to 28 days of smoothness, as it removes hairs from the root on your upper lip, cheeks and chin. It combines their Easy-Gelwax™formula which grips hair as short as 1.5mm with their EasyGrip™ tabs that make the strips easy to remove, for great first time results, even for those who are inexperienced with wax strips. With repeated use, Veet Wax Strips give you fewer, finer and softer hairs growing back- no irritating stubble! The wax is formulated with almond oil and vitamin E to care for sensitive skin.
How to use Veet Face Wax
Soft skin can be achieved in just 4 easy steps:
- Separate the two double strips following the pre-cut line, take one and carefully peel the strips apart using the outwards rounded tabs- no need to rub the strips between the hands to separate them!
- Hair grows down and to the left and right, so ensure to wax in different directions. With the curved tab pointing in the direction your hair grows, place a strip on the area you wish to wax and rub repeatedly in the direction your hair grows.
- Hold your skin taut. Grasp the tab and pull the strip back on itself as quickly as you can, against the direction the hair grows. Pull the strip back in one swift motion, close to the skin rather than away from it.
- After waxing, clean away any wax left on the skin with the Perfect Finish wipes.
- Read and follow all precautions and directions before use
- Retain outer pack and leaflet for other precautions
- This product is suitable for use on the female facial areas: eyebrows, upper lip, cheeks and chin
- Always leave 72 hours between hair removal sessions
- It is recommended to wait 24 hours before using any other perfumed product, using artificial tanning equipment, swimming or sunbathing
- Ensure your skin is dry, non-irritated and free of creams, oils or deodorant
- Do not wax over the same area more than once
How to limit the pain of waxing
Due to the nature of waxing, there is some pain involved in this hair removal process, however, there are steps you can take to limit this pain:
Never wax during your period
This is the time of the month when your pain threshold is lower than normal, which can heighten discomfort during waxing.
Pull the wax strip in the opposite direction to hair growth as it will minimise the pain when you pull the wax strip off.
Scrubbing off dead skin cells the night before waxing exfoliates the hair follicles and can reduce pain when waxing.
Let it grow
Let the hair grow slightly, as waxing small, prickly hairs can make waxing painful.
