Salicylic acid works to remove the outer layer of the skin. This means that it can treat several skin conditions, such as eczema and psoriasis, as well as dandruff.
What is the cause of dandruff?
Dandruff can be caused by several conditions, with each having dandruff manifest in different ways. Some will cause smaller flakes of dandruff and other conditions will cause larger ones. Conditions that can cause dandruff to include:
- Seborrhoeic dermatitis – A yeast infection in the scalp. In babies, this is known as cradle cap
- Tinea capitis – A fungal infection in the scalp

Can I use Vosene as a face mask for fungal acne?
This product should not be used on the face.
I'm not aware of any anti-fungal face mask, you may wish to try an anti-fungal cream such as clotrimazole cream.
