Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion is a lotion that is intended to be used for moisturising the skin. It offers 24-hour protection for the skin and will restore the skin barrier that has been damaged, causing dry skin. After just 2 weeks of use, the skin will feel softer and healthier.
What causes dry skin?
Dry skin occurs when the skin barrier is damaged and the skin dries out, becoming rougher and less smooth. There are factors, both external and internal, that can cause dry skin. External factors that can dry the skin out include:
- Weather conditions
- Seasonal – winter and summer especially
- UV sunlight
- Frequently washing
- Using strong soaps
- Certain types of medication
The internal factors can be more difficult to prevent causing dry skin. These include:
- Hormonal changes such as menopause
- Genetics – some people naturally have drier skin than others
- Diet
- Ageing
Dry skin is ultimately a loss of moisture in the skin and restoring the barrier will help the skin to retain it.

This lotion is suitable to be used by anyone who is in need of a body lotion that will restore the skin barrier and retain moisture. It should not be used by anyone who is allergic to the ingredients that are contained in the lotion. Can someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding use this lotion?
There is no evidence that there any problems when using this lotion by anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding. However, it is recommended that a medical professional is consulted before using this lotion.
How should Aveeno Daily Moisturising Lotion be used?
Apply the lotion to the skin after a shower or a bath for the best results. Use once a day. Using for 2 weeks should show improvements when it comes to treating dry skin.
Are there any side effects?
A side effect is most likely to be caused by an allergic reaction when using the lotion. If you notice a side effect, stop using and speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist as soon as possible. You can also record a side effect that you have noticed using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
