What is Perspirex?

Perspirex is an antiperspirant that is specifically formulated for people with severe perspiration problems and provides protection from underarm sweat and odour for 5 days. Its high-strength formula is one of the most effective on the market and is clinically proven to provide long-lasting protection against excessive sweating and odour.

What is Excessive Sweating?

Sweat is produced by sweat glands that can be found all over our body and can be divided into two types:

  • Apocrine sweat glands which are present in the hair follicle, such as the armpit area
  • Eccrine sweat glands are found on the surface of the skin, all over the body

Excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) is a common condition and can affect certain areas or the whole body. The body produces sweat when we are hot or taking part in exercise to keep our body cool, but you may experience sweating when your body doesn’t need to cool down, this is excessive sweating. Hyperhidrosis can happen because of an underlying condition or as a side effect of medication.

How to deal with excessive sweating

  • Wear loose-fitting clothes to minimise signs of sweating
  • Wear socks that absorb moisture and change your socks at least twice a day if possible
  • Wear leather shoes and try to wear different shoes day to day
  • Don’t wear tight clothes or man-made fabrics – for example, nylon
  • Don’t wear enclosed boots or sports shoes that may cause your feet to sweat more
  • Avoid things that may make your sweating worse, such as drinking alcohol or eating spicy food

What is the difference between deodorant and antiperspirant?

Both deodorants and antiperspirants keep our underarms feeling and smelling fresh, but there are some key differences between the two :

Deodorants

  • Do not stop sweat
  • Designed to prevent bacterial growth to help fight body odour
  • Some deodorants contain fragrance, which serves to mask the bad odour

Antiperspirants

  • Specially formulated with active ingredients which work to decrease the amount of sweat that our glands release by forming temporary gel plugs in the upper parts of our pores
  • Have a deodorising effect as they inhibit bacterial growth by lowering pH levels and moisture in the underarm area

How can Perspirex Anti-Perspirant help excessive sweating?

Perspirex roll-on is formulated to help treat severe perspiration (sweating) problems and offers 5 days of protection from underarm sweat and odour. This antiperspirant works due to the use of its active ingredient Aluminium Chloride Hexahydrate. This ingredient reacts with water and keratin found in the sweat duct by temporarily forming a gel plug to prevent the sweat from reaching the surface of the skin. The gel plug is removed after a few days with the natural shedding of dead skin cells, meaning you only have to apply Perspirex 2 -3 times a week. As Aluminium Chloride Hexahydrate can irritate the skin, Perspirex has an active skincare system that reduces skin irritation for long-lasting and caring protection.

How to use this product

Apply to dry and unbroken skin at night before going to bed as sweat glands are less active at night. Only a small amount is necessary- 2 strokes up and 2 strokes down, in the centre of the armpit area is enough. Wash Perspirex off in the morning with soap and water. Do not re-apply as the effect will last even after showering. You can follow this application with a regular scented deodorant or perfume if you wish, although this isn’t necessary.

Side effects

If you experience any skin irritation or rash, discontinue use.

Very good product so far. Apply at night, allow to dry and wash off in the morning. My armpits are doing great. Only downside is the stinging that occurs sometimes but that does subside within an hour or so. Also it stained my pyjama top the first time I used it, so wear a vest top.
