What is QV Bath Oil?

QV Bath Oil is an additive that is added to a bath in order to treat dry and itchy skin. The solution disperses in the water without leaving any residue, making it more pleasant to use. This bath oil is suitable for anyone suffering from skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis.

How does it work?

This bath oil works by moisturising the skin, which helps to remove the dry skin and skin conditions that cause the skin issue. The fact that it is fragrance-free helps with treating conditions such as eczema, as it prevents further irritation. The active ingredient, light liquid paraffin, is an emollient which forms a protective barrier over the skin, which helps it to retain skin.

How do eczema, dermatitis, and psoriasis affect the skin?

Eczema causes the skin to become red, dry, cracked and itchy. It is commonplace on the knees but can appear anywhere. Dermatitis is actually another name for eczema, so the symptoms for the two are identical. Psoriasis causes red, flaky, and crusty patches on the skin with silver scales as part of it. Psoriasis is most often found on the knees, scalp, and elbows but can appear anywhere. They are sometimes sore.

Who is QV Bath Oil Suitable for?

It is suitable for adults, children and the elderly. It is not suitable for anyone who is allergic to the ingredients in the oil, including the active ingredient light liquid paraffin.

Can someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding use this bath oil?

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor before using this QV Bath Oil. It should be safe but you should check with your doctor before use.

Can this bath oil be used when taking medication?

If you are taking any medication, it is recommended that you speak to a doctor before use. This is because there is a chance that the ingredients in the oil and the medication could interfere with each other.

What is the best way to use QV Bath Oil?

To use this oil, add 4 capfuls of the oil to a bath, 2 capfuls for children, and bathe in the bath for 10-20 minutes, before gently patting the skin dry. Despite it being called a bath oil, it can also be used in the shower. To use in the shower, apply the oil to the skin gently and rinse it off after a few minutes.

Are there any side effects?

A side effect will most likely be as a result of an allergic reaction. If you notice a side effect, speak to a doctor as soon as possible.
