What does Vitamin D do?

There are different types of vitamin D, with two main types being vitamin D2 and D3. Vitamin D3 (also known as colcalciferol, is the biologically active form of vitamin, which our body produces through converting cholesterol when our skin is exposed to sunlight. D2 is created when plants are exposed to sunlight. As well as receiving vitamin D through sunlight exposure, we can receive small amounts of it in some of our food including:
