What are Slow Sodium Tablets?

Slow Sodium Tablets are slow-release sodium tablets which are used to treat and prevent sodium chloride deficiencies. They contain the active ingredient sodium chloride (salt) in a format that is released slowly into the body. Each tablet contains 600mg of Sodium Chloride which is gradually released to avoid high concentrations of sodium chloride. If you’re looking for a simple and effective way to treat and prevent Sodium Chloride deficiencies, try Slow Sodium Tablets.

What is Sodium Chloride?

Sodium Chloride is the scientific name for salt and our body requires it for a variety of uses. One of the main uses is to maintain the electrolyte balance of fluid in our body. If levels of electrolytes become too low we can become dehydrated and if they become to high we can be over hydrated.

What causes a sodium chloride deficiency?

The causes of a sodium chloride deficiency isn’t usually a result of low intake in our diets, but is more likely to be caused by factors such as:

  • Illness
  • Prolonged vomiting
  • Prolonged diarrhoea
  • Excessive sweating
  • Use of some diuretics
  • As a result of some kidney diseases
  • Old age

Sodium disorders and deficiencies can be quite common, especially in hospital patients and the elderly, but it can be slowly corrected with medical attention and treatment.

How does slow sodium work?

Slow sodium tablets contain the active ingredient sodium chloride (salt). The effective formula is slowly released into the body over a period of time to gradually increase levels of sodium chloride whilst preventing high concentrations from occurring. They work to prevent salt depletion to treat and prevent sodium chloride deficiencies.
