How can you take better care of your heart?

Taking care of our body as a whole is incredibly important, but one of the most important parts of our body we need to care for is our heart. There are many steps we can take to ensure our heart is working optimally, including:

  • Healthy diet
  • Regular physical activity
  • Quitting smoking
  • Taking control of cholesterol levels and blood pressure

What kind of diet is good for heart health?

Eating a generally healthy diet is the best way to support your diet. Rather than focusing on a diet plan or consuming a specific type of food, it is better to see what foods you generally consume in your diet from week to week and make healthy swaps. Some steps you can take to improve your diet include:

  • Eating more fruit and vegetables - a variety of fruit and vegetables can help keep your heart healthy and lower the risk of heart disease
  • Swap white bread and pasta for wholegrain - products that are wholegrain contain more nutrients like fibre, vitamin B, vitamin E and healthy fats
  • Choose healthy fats - you can find healthy fats in avocados, nuts, fish and sunflower seeds
  • Swap salt for tasty herbs and spices - salt can increase your risk of high blood pressure and heart disease

How can you include more exercise into your schedule?

Taking part in regular activity can reduce the risk of heart attack, heart disease, high blood pressure and cholesterol and becoming overweight. If you don’t know where to start with including more exercise into your life, a good way to begin is just moving more throughout the week. If you have a sedentary job, maybe go for a walk during your lunchbreak or when you get home. If you don’t fancy going to the gym, why not follow a workout video online? Whatever you choose to do, ensure that your exercise goals are realistic, as this can make it easier for you to achieve them. Try to aim for 30-60 minutes of exercise per day and try to choose activities that you enjoy. For example, don’t challenge yourself to go running every day, if you know it isn’t something you are likely to enjoy taking part in everyday. If you enjoy the exercise, you are more likely to keep it up.

How can Healthspan help to support your heart?

Healthspan Love Your Heart contains three separate supplements:

  • Cardio complex tablet - a comprehensive formulation containing black garlic, L-Arginine and B vitamins to help support heart health
  • Vegan Omega 3 capsule - created with sustainably sourced omega 3 fatty acids from marine microflora to support normal heart function
  • Coenzyme Q10 capsule - to promote healthy heart functionality

The 28 pack is supplied in convenient 3 a day dose strips, so there is no need to measure out or count the dose each day. The three supplements work together to help keep your heart healthy and functioning at its best. The supplements do not contain any animal products or ingredients derived from animal products, so are suitable for both vegetarians and vegans.
