What is an Olbas Inhaler?

This Olbas Inhaler helps to relieve several uncomfortable conditions in the nose and sinuses, including the effects of a cold, catarrh and blocked sinuses. There are four active ingredients that work together to ease your symptoms: cajeput oil, eucalyptus oil, levomenthol and peppermint oil. They reduce swelling and inflammation in the nose, in addition and loosening mucus so you can breathe easier.

How to use this product

Always use Olbas Inhaler exactly as described in the patient information leaflet or as your doctor / Chemist4U pharmacist has told you. Remove the cap and close one nostril with your finger. Place the inhaler into the open nostril and inhale deeply. Repeat the process for the other nostril. After using, clean the inhaler to prevent the spread of germs and do not share your inhaler with others. Do not use it more than four times in 1 hour. If the symptoms persist after 1 week, stop using and speak to your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist for advice.

How do decongestants work?

A decongestant clears up congestion, helping you to breathe easier. Congestion is caused when the blood vessels in your nose dilate, causing inflammation and discomfort. Decongestant treatments help to narrow these blood vessels, and with the swelling reduced, it allows more air to pass through and the mucus to drain, providing relief for cold and flu symptoms.

Is an Olbas Inhaler suitable for children?

Olbas Inhaler is suitable for children aged 6 years and over. If you’re looking for a decongestant for a child under the age of 6, speak to your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist for advice on alternative treatment options.

Is an Olbas Inhaler suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women?

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, you must ask your doctor or Chemist4U pharmacist for advice before taking this product.

When should this product not be used?

An Olbas Inhaler may be unsuitable for certain people. Do not use this product if you are allergic to any of the ingredients. Seek emergency medical attention if you notice any signs of a severe allergic reaction, symptoms of which include swelling of the face and throat, skin rash, breathing difficulties and/or loss of consciousness.
