What is Wartie Advanced Wart and Verruca Remover?

Wartie Advanced Wart and Verruca Remover helps to remove mature and stubborn warts and verrucas. This all-in-one treatment is simple to use and contains everything you need to remove calloused and difficult warts and verrucas. Each pack contains the Wartie Advanced conductive gel which has an increased freezing performance to remove warts and verrucas in as little as one application, as well as protective plasters that protect the verruca or wart after freezing.

What are verrucas and warts?

Verrucas and warts are small lumps that form on the skin and are a very common skin complaint that most people will experience at some point in their lives. Both warts and verrucas are usually harmless but can be unsightly or cause slight discomfort.

Verrucas

Verrucas (also known as plantar warts) are small warts that occur on the soles of the feet. They are caused by a contagious infection known as human papilloma virus (HPV) which causes the skin to over-grow and thicken creating a growth. Verrucas often grow on the weightbearing areas of the foot and can vary in size, from a few millimetres to more than a centimetre. They have a rough appearance with small black dots in the centre and can cause some discomfort when weight is placed upon them.

Warts

Warts are small lumps of tougher skin that often develop on the hands and feet. They can vary in appearance and may appear individually or in clusters. They are non-cancerous, but can resemble certain types of cancers so it can be important to get them checked by a doctor if you are unsure. Warts tend to affect children and teenagers more than adults. Common warts are firm to touch and usually are round or oval shaped. The surface is usually rough and irregular - similar to the texture of a cauliflower and they tend to develop on the knuckles, fingers and knees.

What causes verrucas and warts?

Both verrucas and warts are caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV) which is contagious and spreads from contaminated surfaces or through close skin contact. It’s common to catch them in places such as communal showers, changing rooms and floors around swimming pools.

How does Wartie work?

The conductive gel in Wartie Advanced has been specifically developed for stubborn mature warts. The cold gel penetrates through hard skin removing the need to soak the wart or verruca before treatment. This treatment is applied with a precise tip to freeze the wart or verruca to its core for easy removal and avoids the surrounding healthy skin. Wartie contains the active ingredient Dimethyl Ether (DME) which cools the metal tip of the wartie applicator to freeze the wart or verruca. After freezing, the skin can be sensitive when pressure is applied, so the Wartie Advanced kit includes protective foam plasters to protect the tender area around the verruca or wart after treatment.

Is Wartie safe for children?

Wartie Advanced is safe for children over the age of 12. Wartie’s precision tip allows the freezing power to be controlled by the amount of pressure exerted on the can during application. For smaller warts and verrucas on children it is advised to use lighter pressure to minimize contact with precision and comfort.

How to use Wartie Advanced

Remove warts and verrucas with Wartie Advanced in five simple steps.

  1. Remove the cap, place the can upright on a table and hold the collar.

  2. Put the cap back and align with the freeze icon on the can.

  3. Press the cap down for 3 seconds (DO NOT EXCEED 3 SECONDS) - you will then hear the activation sound.

  4. Precisely apply the frozen metal tip on the wart.

  • For warts on the hand, apply the tip for 20 seconds

  • For warts on the foot (verrucas), apply the tip for 40 seconds

  1. Carefully remove the foam plaster from its backing and apply the adhesive side to skin with the hole in the middle of the plaster directly over the tender part of the treated skin.

The wart or verruca will gradually disappear or fall off in 10 to 14 days after application to reveal the healthy, new skin underneath.

DO NOT APPLY AGAIN WITHIN 14 DAYS AFTER THE FIRST APPLICATION.
