What is a verruca?

A verruca is a virus under the skin. It is most common in children aged from 3 until adulthood. A verruca will appear on the bottom of the foot where pressure will be placed and as a result, are painful when walking. A white ring will surround the verruca, with a softer centre. Small black spots can be seen in a verruca when looking at it closely. These spots are caused by internal bleeding in the verruca.
