What is Numark Chesty Cough?

This is a form of treatment that works to provide relief for a chesty cough that brings up mucus and phlegm. This medicine contains these three ingredients that help to provide relief:

  • Glycerin
  • Lemon
  • Ipecacuanha

Glycerin acts as a lubricant that helps to relieve a sore throat. Lemon is an ingredient that helps to reduce the effects of a cough. Ipecacuanha works as an expectorant which helps to remove the mucus from the chest, throat, and nose.

 

What causes a chesty cough?

A chesty cough is caused by mucus build-up in the airways, which is the result of an infection, such as a cold or the flu. The mucus causes a cough as a cough is the body’s way of trying to remove the mucus.

 

Who is this chesty cough medicine suitable for?

This medicine is suitable to be used by adults and children aged 12 and over. It should not be used by anyone who is allergic to the ingredients contained in the liquid. You should also not use this medicine if any of the following applies to you:

  • Are at risk of seizure
  • Have blood circulation issues
  • Have kidney, liver, or heart problems

If you are using any other type of medication, speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using.

 

Can someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding use this medicine?

Anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding should not use this medicine unless they have been told to do so by a doctor.

 

How should Numark Chesty Cough be used?

Take 5ml or 5ml in 3-4 times a day. Do not use more than 4 times a day. Do not use with any other type of cough, cold, or flu medicine.

 

Are there any side effect?

Like with most medicines, there is a chance of side effects. Potential side effects include:

  • Indigestion
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Diarrhoea
  • Heart palpitations

If you notice any side, then stop using any speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist as soon as possible. You can also record any side effect using the MHRA Yellow Card Scheme.
