What are BronchoStop pastilles?

BronchoStop pastilles are a natural cough remedy which uses herbal ingredients to ease your cough, based on traditional use. BronchoStop pastilles can be used to ease any type of cough, so if you don’t know what type of cough you have or find that your cough can vary between more than one type, these pastilles can take the hassle out of choosing a cough remedy. This product is non-drowsy and does not contain gluten.

What is the difference between a dry and a chesty cough?

All coughs are not created equal, and a dry cough and a chesty cough can be very different.

A dry cough is the type of cough that doesn’t bring up phlegm or mucus and is also known as a tickly cough because you start coughing in response to a tickling feeling in the back of your throat. A chesty cough is the type of cough which brings up mucus or phlegm, which is why it may also be called a mucus cough. When you have a chesty cough, your body is trying to remove the excess mucus from your airways, causing that annoying cough.

How will BronchoStop pastilles help to ease my cough?

BronchoStop pastilles contain a herbal ingredient called thyme extract, which is traditionally used as a cough remedy. It can be used as a natural remedy for any type of cough and is particularly popular with those who prefer herbal remedies to medicines.

Can I use this product if I’m taking other medication?

If you’re taking any other medication, including other herbal remedies and medications obtained without a prescription, you should speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking BronchoStop. Some products can interact when used together, making your medication less effective or causing unwanted side effects, but a medical professional can help you to avoid this.

Can I take this product if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?

BronchoStop pastilles are not suitable for use during pregnancy or if you’re breastfeeding. If you have a cough during these times, you should speak to your doctor or pharmacist and ask them to recommend another, more suitable treatment.

How to take these pastilles

Take 1 – 2 pastilles every 4 hours, up to 4 times a day. Do not take more than 12 pastilles a day. Let the pastilles dissolve in your mouth and then swallow. If your cough hasn’t improved after 7 days you should speak to your doctor or pharmacist for advice.

When should this product not be used?

BronchoStop pastilles are not suitable for use in children under the age of 12. Do not take these pastilles if you are allergic to thyme, any other members of the Lamiaceae family (e.g. basil, rosemary, sage), or any of the other listed ingredients. Speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this product if you have been told that you have an intolerance to some sugars, as this product contains fructose and sorbitol. If you have diabetes mellitus, you should consider that each pastille corresponds to approximately 0.1 carbohydrate units.

Do BronchoStop pastilles have any side effects?

Like all medications, BronchoStop pastilles can have side effects, although not everyone will experience them. If you experience any of the following side effects you may be experiencing an allergic reaction and should stop use and seek immediate medical assistance:

  • Swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat
  • Difficulty swallowing or breathing, shortness of breath
  • Skin rash

Other side effects you may experience include stomach disorders, although the frequency of these is unknown. If you experience these or any other side effects while using this product, stop use and speak to your doctor or pharmacist. You need to like the taste of herbs, mainly thyme, to suck these. Even then they don’t feel as if they are having much, if any effect on my dry cough.
