What is Simple Linctus?
Simple Linctus is a cough medicine which helps to soothe your throat and relieve your cough. This medicine can be taken by anyone over the age of 12, needing just one spoonful up to four times a day to ease your irritating cough.
Why do I have a cough?
Coughs are common and are usually harmless symptoms of another condition. If you have a cough, you’ll find that it will usually clear up by itself within 3 weeks without needing to see your doctor. However, if your cough lasts for longer than this then you should make sure to see your doctor as soon as possible. There are lots of things that can cause a cough, including:
- Cold and flu
- Hay fever and other allergies
- Infections, e.g. bronchitis
- Post-nasal drip – where mucus drops down your throat from the back of your nose
- Heartburn or acid reflux
- Smoking
How will Simple Linctus help to ease my cough?
Simple Linctus contains the active ingredient citric acid monohydrate which helps to ease coughs by coating your throat. This helps to ease the symptoms of a cough, easing the irritation in your throat which causes coughing, preventing the cough at its source.
Can I use this product if I’m pregnant or breastfeeding?
Simple Linctus is not suitable to use during pregnancy. If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, you should speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist before using this or any other medication to ensure that the product is safe for you and your baby.
How to take this product
Take 1 x 5ml spoonful of Simple Linctus up to four times a day, as necessary. Do not take more than the recommended daily dose.
When should this medicine not be used?
Simple Linctus is not suitable for use by children under the age of 12 unless specifically advised otherwise by a doctor. Do not take this product if you are allergic to citric acid monohydrate or any of the other listed ingredients.
Does this product have any side effects?
There are currently no known side effects of Simple Linctus when this product is used as recommended by the manufacturer. However, if you take more than the recommended daily dose, you may experience headaches, stomach upset, and diarrhoea. If you experience any side effects while using this product, stop use and speak to your doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist. How to store this product
Store in a cool, dry place that is below 25 degrees C. Do not use if the expiry date printed on original packaging has passed. Once opened use within 2 months. Keep out of sight and reach of children.
