What is Numark Adult Dry Cough Linctus?
This Numark Dry Cough Linctus is a form of treatment that works to provide relief for a dry cough. It works thanks to the active ingredient in the liquid which is dextromethorphan. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant that helps to reduce a dry cough.
What causes a dry cough?
A dry cough can be caused by a number of conditions, but the most common ones are:

- Lung conditions such as asthma
- Tobacco smoke
Unlike with a chesty/a mucus cough, there is no mucus that is coughed up. A dry cough is generally short-term but can last for a longer period of time. Long-term coughs are known as a chronic cough, which is a cough that has lasted for over eight weeks in adults, and four weeks in children.

This dry cough medicine is suitable to be used by adults and children aged 7 and over. Anyone who is allergic to the ingredients contained in the medicine. You should consult your doctor before using if you have or have any of the following:
- Liver disease
- Taken central nervous system depressants
- Taken antidepressants that are known as Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs) in the last 14 days

How should Numark Adult Dry Cough Linctus be used?
The medicine should be taken by putting the liquid on a spoon and taking orally. Children aged 7-12 should take 5ml up to four times a day. Children over the age of 12 and adults can double this dosage. If symptoms still persist, then stop using and speak to a doctor or Chemist 4 U pharmacist.
Are there any side effects?
There is a chance of side effects since it is a medicine. If you are allergic to aspirin, then the chances of side effects increase. Potential side effects include:
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Stomach upset
- Diarrhoea
